Summer time

So summer is almost upon us. I have somehow successfully completed my first year of nursing school. While I am completely stoked about that accomplishment, my lack of ability to find a summer job has put a lot of stress on my family.
How I wish that this summer break involved a nice visit to the beach or at least an opportunity to visit and catch up with out of town family.
In trying to maintain the theme of this blog I am determined to find my happiness in this trying time. The bill collectors may be calling, but I am too busy enjoying a good run and the smile of my beautiful toddler to notice.
A long the same lines I am trying to reach daily goals so that I feel like I am at least moving forward and living my life not waiting around for life to happen.
I love love love inspiring stories and hope that out of this my own inspiring story will develop in the meantime I will soak up those of the people around me. If I find a good one I will be sure to pass it along. This is when I wish I had an audience so I could ask everyone for their favorite inspiring story. :)

Update on Kylie

Here is a copy of the letter they are sending home with the parents...
Dear Parents, staff and friends,
As most of you parents know, Ms. Kendra (our "infant 2" classroom teacher) had her baby about 2 months ago. Her baby girl was born with some problems and stayed in Grady Hospital for approximately 45 days and after was lifted by a helicopter to Egleston Children's Hospital, where she is until now. The doctors from Grady and now from Egleston told the family that she will not survive and that Ms. Kendra must do the funeral arrangements for her baby. It is a very sad situation but Ms. Kendra is accepting it with resignation and faith and she feels that her daughter is one more angel to be with God and that her baby will rest in peace.
The expense that Ms. Kendra will have with her daughter's funeral is $1,100.00 (already deducting the help given by the government).
I would like to ask for your help with a donation in any amount in order to help Ms. Kendra.
No amount is too small, anything will help. Your donations will be confidential and any amount will be highly appreciated. You can donate through paypal online or send a check made out to Kendra Jones. (If you would like to send a check message me and I will give you the address.)
Thank you for your generosity and may God bless all.
Thank you,
Ms. Sue

Emmy's First Christmas

Well, Emmy's first Christmas was a success. She had a blast and there is nothing like seeing her face everyday when she wakes up and realizes her toys are still here. We were able to head to Arkansas over the holidays and visit my family. It was really nice to be able to see everyone again, it had been 8 years.
I wish my family lived closer because there is nothing like having that support system in place. Unfortunately many of us live further away from our families then we would like. This trip definitely boosted my happiness quota.

Donations for Kylie's Family

Family and friends, I need your help.

A friend of mine that works at Emerson’s daycare gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who she named Kylie in October this year. Unfortunately Kylie was born very sick and has been in the NICU since her birth. Her Mother has been so strong, but her strength is not enough to keep Kylie with her. The Doctors do not expect her to make it past the first of the year. It breaks my heart, I cannot even imagine the pain her family must be going through.

I just want her family to know that Kylie touched someone’s life, and she has touched mine. So if you have an extra Christmas card or maybe a story to share to let Kylie’s Mom and family (she has two big sisters) know that they are not a lone and that sometimes God works in strange ways could you send it my way so Emerson and I can give them to her family? It would mean the world to me. Please forward this on to all that you think would participate. Thank you.

There is also a donate button that should take you to a paypal account if you would like to donate money to help with Kylie's expenses.

So today was day two of my SAHM experience. I didn't get to shower till almost 3pm! My little darling girl is teething and has a cold so she was not having any of it today. I hope the rest of my month off goes smoother then the past two days.
